Sara Vara
Sara began Irish dancing at the age of 10 under the instruction of World Champion Neill Reagan of San Antonio, Texas. Since that time she has also been under the direction of Abbey Pride of Savannah, Georgia and Joanne Muggivan of New Orleans, Louisianna, and has received instruction through workshops with big names in Irish dance such as Cara Butler, Ryan McCaffrey, Maeve Croke, Michael Donnelan (choreographer of Magic of the Dance and Riverdance), and several other instructors who collectively hold numerous World Championship titles and have all been leads in Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, and Magic of the Dance.
Sara is currently competing internationally at the Open Championship level (presently highest competitive level) and holds the Oklahoma State Champion title. She began teaching Irish dance in 2004 because all three of her main instructors live out of town and could not always come in for classes every week. Since this time Sara has taught all levels of classes (from beginner to championship) and all ages (4 years and up) in competitive, performance, and ceili forms of Irish dance. Sara has had the unique opportunity to choreograph several performances as well. Sara plans to obtain her TCRG and become a certified Irish dance instructor.
