Naomi Frausto
 Naomi Frausto began playing the violin at the age of 11. Growing up in El Paso,
Texas, and influenced by the Mexican culture, she began performing with a local
mariachi band at the age of 15. She continued playing with various mariachi groups
over a fifteen year period, including Mariachi Oro Del Sol. After graduation from
high school, Naomi began studying classical violin with Laurence Gibson at the University
of Texas at El Paso and received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. In addition
to being an accomplished mariachi violinist, she has been a member of the El Paso
Symphony Orchestra, Juarez Symphony Orchestra (Ciudad Juarez, Mexico) and Las Cruces
Symphony Orchestra. Naomi is also an educator who has privately taught violin for
ten years. She taught middle school orchestra with the Socorro Independent School
District in El Paso, Texas for two years and has been a guest instructor with many
of the region's mariachi conferences.
